We are delighted to announce technology recruitment consultants Synapri have chosen Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind as their Charity of the Year 2021/22.
Synapri, who are based in East Street, Bromley, are aiming to raise a minimum of £1,500 for BLG Mind over the course of the coming year.
They chose to partner with us after becoming increasingly aware of the effect the Covid-19 pandemic is having on people’s mental wellbeing. They hope their involvement will help lift the stigma often associated with mental illness, as well as encouraging the Synapri team to become more aware of what can be done in the workplace to support mental health.
James Smith, a director of Synapri, said: “The pandemic has had such a huge impact on everyone’s mental health, and the amazing work BLG Mind do will play such an important role in supporting people in our local community.
“I’m really looking forward to all the challenges we’re planning as a team this year to raise both awareness and much needed funds for such an important cause.”
The first of these challenges will be a virtual climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, taking on the Marangu route, a 64km path up the mountain. As a team, they will walk or run this distance over the month of February. Other events planned include a Tough Mudder challenge, a cook-off and virtual drinks.
Charlotte Fletcher, Head of Development at BLG Mind, said: “We are delighted that Synapri have chosen us to be their Charity of the Year. As expected in these challenging times, demand for our services is extremely high and we are constantly adjusting the way we deliver our services to ensure that we are still there for local people who need us, whilst abiding by local Covid -19 restrictions.
“Every penny that is raised for BLG Mind goes towards supporting people on their mental health journey and the more resource we have, the more local people we can support. It really is that simple.
“We’d like to thank Synapri and wish them well with the fundraising activities that they have planned in the year ahead.”
