Counselling

“It was good to know I had someone to talk to or a place to go to if at any time I thought I was losing control again.”

The Greenwich Counselling service offers free counselling to adults who live or are registered with a GP in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Support during COVID-19

Greenwich counselling services at BLG Mind have adapted well to provide support during the lockdown. However, we are limited in how many new long-term counselling supports we can offer.

Please be aware that we are currently unable to add new clients to the generic long-term counselling waiting list.

We are still open for referrals to both the Asian-specific service and African/African-Caribbean-specific services.

We are able to offer a range of alternative support during this time. Mindline, our telephone counselling support, is open as usual, and we are arranging more short-term interventions with clients. These include the opportunity to access SilverCloud Health online resources, and our closed Facebook group, which helps our service users connect with others and build resilience.

Please direct any clients to Mindline on 020 8853 1735 to find out what we can currently offer them.

What is Counselling?

Counselling offers an opportunity to talk to a trained counsellor in private and in confidence without judgement or criticism. It can support you to become clearer about any issues you may be experiencing and help you to manage them better. It can help improve your general mental health and wellbeing.
