Greenwich Peer Support
Greenwich Peer Support runs peer-led activity groups for adults with mental health needs. We encourage and support group members to work as peer leaders within the groups, developing their skills and sharing their interests.
About Peer Support
Peer Support is widely recognised as an effective method of supporting anyone experiencing mental health problems. It provides community-led solutions which can be tailored to the individual needs of adults who are experiencing mental distress. The volunteers running our Peer Support activity groups all have personal experience of mental illness, support and recovery.
Peer Support activities
Greenwich Peer Support runs a number of activity groups for adults with mental health needs. Individuals are encouraged and supported to work as peer leaders within the groups to develop their skills and share their interests.
Peer Support and COVID-19
In response to COVID-19 and based on government guidance, we are currently unable to run face-to-face groups. However, a number of groups are taking place online, including a regular drop-in, Creative Writing, Mindfulness, Art, Knit and Natter, Walk and Talk, as well as online workshops and Facebook watch parties.
Greenwich Peer Support social activities and groups will be expanding again soon.
“I so look forward to the Arts and Crafts group. It’s been a real lifeline for me and has given me a social life again; friends to go out with after years of being stuck indoors.”
We’re on Facebook
You can keep up with our service information, and find some things to keep you occupied during this ‘stay home’ time, on our Facebook Group Page. This is a private, members only group; only those who use our services in Greenwich can join it, and only members can comment and see who other members are. Anyone can post but posts must be approved by our admin before publication.
If you have any problems accessing the page, please email email@example.com.
