Christine Gallagher – Dementia Skills Manager
Christine has worked in older people’s services for over 30 years, and more specifically alongside people living with dementia.
In addition to working directly in nursing homes, homecare and day care, she has also managed respite services aimed at people caring for relatives living with dementia.
In 2006, while working for the Alzheimer’s Society, Christine underwent extensive training to become a dementia trainer so that she could use her skills and knowledge to help others.
Christine joined the MindCare team in 2010 and designed the dementia skills training courses that we still deliver today.
She is extremely passionate about her work, which is evident in her training delivery.
Gill Winter – Dementia Skills Coach
Gill trained and worked as a teacher in schools for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties for 25 years. Towards the end of that period, both her parents were diagnosed with dementia and Gill became an informal carer for them.
In 2005, Gill returned to college and studied adult social care. Following this she worked for five years as an independent mental capacity advocate, and has been a trainer specialising in dementia care since 2012.
Gill joined the dementia skills training team at MindCare in 2016. She brings to the role a commitment to promoting positive approaches to working alongside people with the dementia and those that support them.
